my300zxblog.blogspot.com This video is of my buddy Josh’s 2005 Ninja zx6-R showing what the stock exhaust sounds like, then open header, and then with the new Hotbodies integrated exhaust setup. The video does not do the exhaust justice at all. It also really opened up the power band and gave the bike a more frisky feel for sure. The stock butterfly was NOT used on the new exhaust. Stay tuned this spring, we will have many more videos of this bike racing, flybys and much more!
nice you hit the jackpot on exhaust notes !!
That shit is nice.. Not the bike the 300ZX behind it. ha. jk, Hey check out my bike and my Z. 5 stars
badass dude!!!!
i like dat fuking sounds
wow…. “let it warm up” eh?
hahaha shittt, thats a keeper.
friggin sexy!
how much was that
that is a very clean mod and sounds grreat
haha jess imma have to get it out this summer and let you record some flybys and burnouts so they can hear what it really sounds like runnin wide open lol…that vid can’t come close to how amazing the thing sounds when its runnin with load on the engine wide open.
but great vid man you did the bike justice lol, to think we finished this shit in like 6 hours.
hey that sounds good man! That exhaust sounds amazing. I ride an 04 zx-6 frame with a 1000cc engine
and a muzzy exhaust..
Yup. We just got rid of his with a power commander.
does your FI light stay on with the new exhaust?
haha thanks. I honestly couldn’t hear. That thing on the street sounds amazing though.
I like your commentary. That “WHAT?” part is hilarious. And damn, that thing is LOUD.
nice bike! hey i have an 06 636 and i bought this same exhaust kit and decided to do it myself! But i ran into a problem with the cutting. i am not sure what i should cut it with and i wanna make sure i cut the right spots. and another since you guys took out the butterfly servo is there away to install it to the new exhaust?
Well the only issue he had with running the straight pipe was loss of traction in lower gears
No loss of power what so ever. The exhaust itself was supposed to net something like a 15hp gain. He said it was gained HP he could feel as soon as he hopped back on the bike. Its been about a year now and he still absolutely loves it. I promise as well this video doesn’t do it justice to as good as it really sounds.
wow! how bout backpressure? i threw a straight pipe on a gsxr i had once and i lost tons of power…….im afraid of the same thing with my zx
Glad to hear! As far as the exhaust inside, it is a straight through design with no baffle or can inside the piping. As far as the butterfly, the actual valve comes out with the stock exhaust. Then you just remove the steel cable that runs down to it. You can actually go a step farther and take the cog off that the cable hooks onto thats connected to the servo motor. I was going to do that but my friend was just to excited and wanted it all back together so he could take it out for a spin
i just took my 6R off the track and looking for a new exhaust…..im going to buy this one thanks to your video……..whats up with the butterfly tho? and by chance…..is it just a straight exhaust or is it like a can in there somewhere and if so, do u have a pic of that can? i just dont want to lose any back pressure at all with the change in the exhaust……thanks guys
Its my buds bike but this summer we will try to get some good vids on here of it having a little fun
Had not problems with the signals at all, I done the wiring myself. I think that from where the instructions were really vague I had him it his flashers, volt metered, then labeled the wires accordingly for hot and ground.
MOre vids…you should get a fly by on it !!
good looking girl in the background
i have a hotbodies exhaust for my `04 gsxr 600, i love it, its so loud and great sounding and looks amazing!!
