CleanRepublic.com has made the Hill Topper Classic electric bike wheel kit available for sale. Unlike other complex electric bike kits, Clean Republic’s kits are designed for simple, quick installation on almost any bike in the world. These kits are lighter, more efficient, easier to use, and easier to install than any other. The Hill Topper Classic kit includes SLA batteries that hook right to the side of the electric hub motor bike wheel. The batteries contain enough power to take you 10 miles with no pedaling, and are light enough not to interfere with normal usage of your bike. The whole kit including wheel, hub motor, and batteries weighs only 15 pounds. Ride your bike just like you always have, but when you get tired, have a windy day or get to that one nasty hill, just press the button for a big boost of power assistance! These motors effectively double the strength of the average bike rider, kicking in with 150-250 watts of assistance depending on which model you use. Ultra light and compact lithium batteries are being tested now. Stay tuned! CleanRepublic.com
Yeah front panniers. Bicycle technology gets better every year.
I want to distribute these.
Are they available in a 16 inch wheel size?
Thats exactly what youtube needs…in the era of cheap 10.000.000 megapixel cameras and bicycles that go faster than cars…..people uploading videos…with cheap camera phones. Ooookay.
why not put the batteries in the back ? I don’t like a front heavy bike. Is there no speed control ?
next time dont stand with ur back in front of the camera and put some real music on…
they are ususally between £500 and £1200 depending on battery power, amps, and mortor power and what extras u get like two powered wheels
what is up with that “music”??
how much is it?
what video software do u use to get that typing thing
CleanRepublic – does this come in 700c wheel size and can I still use quick release like my bike has now please?
So this is now a 2 wheel drive bike! Similiar to a hybrid car using electric / CO emitting engine. Bike uses electric plus rider who is CO emitting engine… excellent.
Yes, absolutely. That’s why we’re going with front wheel kits. The compatibility is much wider. Most bikes that hold cargo are built on the big side and are very easy to add electric power to.
Top speed is 15mph on flat without pedaling. Up steep hills the speed is lower without pedaling but it’s easy to get back up to 15mph if you pedal at the same time (it makes you about ‘three times as strong as usual’).
what is the top speed if you were to pedal while the motor is running?
i only get tired of pedaling after 50 km lol
Does that work on multi-speed bikes and utility bikes (bikes that hold cargo)?
yep , they are coming out with some really good simple retro fits for existing cars. greening what we have is better than buying (manufacturing) new stuff. I like to test ride one of your kits .
Can you send a link to that 9lb battery? I’m not sure I found it on the site. Very nice site though.
Aren’t those Crystalyte kits for making bikes into motorcycles? I thought they go 50mph or something and have 45-pound batteries and take forever to install. I like the simple “1,2,3″ “5-minute” “quick-install” type of designs. Racing motor bikes is cool though!
A 200 watt motor will effectively double your strength as you peddle. That’s quite a boost.
“They” can, and so can you. Google “Hi-Pa Drive Ford-F150″ for starters.
Consider it like a decision between buying a Honda Civic or a Suburban. If you want to turn your personal bike into a 60-lb motorcycle, then a 500-watt monster motor and a massive battery pack is the way to go. If you want to keep the usefulness and function of your bike just how it is but add 10 miles of electric power for getting up hills or through the wind, then a simple 15-lb kit is the way to go.
Pity they couldn’t do the same for cars.
Looks super simple to install.
