Are road bikes more difficult to ride than mountain bikes?

Especially in terms of balance or is it the same?

Thanks

You have to pay attention to what you are doing. Trying to ride a bike that is too big for you will feel very twitchy. A bike that is the correct size is easy to ride.

If you can ride one you can ride the other, I have both, the basic differences are the areas or Terrain you are riding. In terms of balance, some would say a mountain bike is somewhat harder to balance because of the slower speeds involved and the places you ride. Road bikes on the other hand are simple to balance but it’s the thing like cars, pedestrians and such you have to look out for, but they are no more difficult to ride.

i both mountain and road bike. road bikes are not necessarily harder to ride, they are just different and take a little getting used to. they are lighter and far more responsive to any movement you do on them. i think it took me only a few days to get used to the feel of a road bike after riding my mountain bike for so long.

Seth D is right, road bikes can me much more responsive than mountain bikes. It’s down to things like tyre width, steering geometry and the lower weight.
I had a road bike stolen, and when the insurance paid up, I upgraded to the same frame, but better parts, including carbon forks. I couldn’t believe that two bikes with the same frame could be so different, the second one has noticeably quicker steering.
There’s not so much difference in the balance, if you can ride one, you’ll be able to ride the other.
