Are there any quality mountain bikes for around $500?

I am a devout rider who wants to upgrade to an overall nicer bike and especially one with disc brakes. I have looked at a Trek 3900 disc, Giant Rincon and the Kona Fire Mountain. Can i have your opinion on these three bikes?
They are all nice and will be about the same level of quality. Take them for a test ride and pick the one that feels the best.
Trek bikes are awesome.
Depends what type of mountain bike you want, really.
Cannondale. They’re great bikes that’s the one you should get
you should look at second hand bikes. you could get one in good condition for little money
I’d say go with the Kona, just because I have a Kona and think its great
The Kona and Trek have similar specs, And you see more Kona’s and Trek’s on the trails than Giant. So I’d say the Trek or Kona, but more so the Kona because I think they’re awesome
