Biking: A Great Form of Transportation

Are you sick of taking out the car everyday and paying for gas? You should try biking. You can bike all over your city and save money on all of those little trips. It can be a fun and effective type of transportation.

Bikes are really good alternatives to cars. You can ride to the store, work, your friend’s house, or just ride around! Instead of wasting your money taking your car out, you can ride your bike and get exercise. I try to ride my bike as much as possible instead of taking a car. After I go on a bike ride, it makes me feel healthy and energetic.

On a bike, you can add many accessories like baskets, saddle bags, speedometers, headlights, taillights, etc (just make sure you don’t leave them on if you park your bike outside). Baskets can come in handy when you are buying a few groceries at the store or when you have something like a sweatshirt that you can’t carry.

Most buildings have a place for your bike to be locked. Always lock a bike so it doesn’t get stolen. When you lock your bicycle, make sure you secure the frame, both wheels, and anything else that could easily be removed from the bike. Keep your cable lock attached to an area like your seat so it is always handy when you need it.

Make sure you keep your bike in good shape. Get a tune-up at a bike shop every 1-2 years and take it in whenever you think something is wrong with it. This will prevent big problems. Also, keep your bike tires pumped well. It makes the bike easier to ride.

Biking can save us from higher prices. Make it your New Year’s resolution to use your bike instead of a car!
