If you want to look the part of an off-road rider, you obviously need to acknowledge that the combination of a T-shirt, jeans and sports shoes does not make the cut.  As such, you need to make some essential additions to your wardrobe.  Although dirt bike accessories personify the bad boy look, their objective is also to protect the rider from common mishaps such as scraps and falls.  It is only when the rider goes a little overboard and becomes a Transformer look-alike, thus raising eyebrows from family, friends and neighbors.

Being on a bike, the most important factor is safety at all times.  As such, a sturdy helmet is one of the many essential elements.  Depending on the nature of the off-road, you may require a pair of goggles to keep out dirt and mud from getting into your eyes and obstructing your vision.  Since riding on rough terrain is quite strenuous on the body, protectors for knees, elbows, wrists, torsos and necks are ideally worn to absorb the shakes and vibrations.  Once all vital parts are properly addressed, a jacket, pant suit, gloves and boots are added to the combination.  Composed of tough and protective material, you are protected as you maneuver your bike through bushes and branches, and any falls along the journey.  Colors and patterns are up to your fancy.  This is where one is given free hand to express himself as he is completely unrecognizable to the public eye once everything is put on.

Once the rider is fully attired, the bike also deserves its chance to be dressed up.  Reasons for adding dirt bike accessories to the bike itself are similar in reason to its rider.  Accessories function as body protectors to the bike during the ride itself as well as deliver practical use and a fashion statement of sorts.  Although a basic exhaust pipe is sufficient, why not install an anodized pipe with customized designs?  If you participate in dirt bike racing, appropriate-sized numbers are to be attached onto your helmet, suit and bike.  When storing your bike, an alternative to the kickstand is an independent bike stand.  To work on your bike, a bike stand which doubles up as a work stand with hydraulics is ideal.
