Electric bike conversion kit that recharges as you pedal?

Basically what’s in the question just wondering if there are any electric bike conversion kits that will partially recharge while you pedal. Kind of like a hybrid; and if you guys have any could you point me to them?

    no
    recharge as you pedal?
that would be about .001% efficient

if you are going to pedal, why not let THAT run the bike
instead of pushing a generator, letting that charge a battery, letting the battery run a motor
    all of which have losses

just charge from the wall for about 1 cent a day

there is no need to ‘charge’ from pedaling

    wle.

That wouldn’t not be very efficient. You have too many loses in the generator and battery. Try pedaling a 75 lb bike around without any battery power and think how much more work it would take to charge a battery. Those little generators that run lights may use 6 watts and they create a size able drag on a bike. The motor on a bicycle uses 200 watts or more.

    Certainly.

The Bionx is one of the top rated Ebike conversion kits in the world. You can charge the battery from a wall 115v outlet, or, you can tell the motor to be a generator, and it will charge the battery either from you pedal-ling, or applying the brakes going downhill.

They are expensive, but they do work quite well.
And there are a few other ebikes with this feature.
