Earlier racing was just limited to the old horse racing tradition, but it still remains popular at present. At times the term racing has been substituted with the horse race that even those people who are not so much interested in this riding sports are familiar with. The first ever race was conducted in the Ireland, in the eighteenth century. The first recorded as well as written reference to the practice was published in the edition of a magazine called The Sporting Magazine from 1793. However, it has been considered strongly that the races had been organized since the 1750s
Earlier, racing called as point to point racing and the horse racing were considered as the same thing. The term steeplechase or horse race appears from the situations in which the first race were carried out. At first, it was considered that the races began very informally, like a way for the hunters to exercise their horses. In this, hunters would race their horses over the countryside to reach to some prominent finishing points.
In the previous era, racing and / or the steeplechase became more popular for which tracks were created for racing. The tracks were made of fences and water ditches in order to simulate the countryside conditions of the original races. But, today the overall concept of racing has changed with more strict rules set up. However, considered as the most daring and thrilling experience, racing has set its own presence. Motorcycle racing, bike racing, car racing, formula 1 racing, drag racing, these are some of the popular and well-known racing forms.
