    Torque Monster!!! It’s a demon on the straights, but I’t looses a little in the twisties. I’m guessing the engine compression braking of the gas bikes helps them slow and allow them to get back on the throttle quicker. This bike looks like it runs a little wide in the curves, is it a little heavier too? It’s probably going to take a change in riding style to maximize the high end- I wonder what Rossi would do on it. I love where this is going!!! Next all electric racing- I hope!!

    That thing sounds like a toaster… not a bike. The future is fucked up…

    Electric bikes has the advantage of 100% torque all the time and does not need revving the engine as IC engines do (also your mind is free from trying to prevent engine blowup). Also gear shifts in ICE delays power output to wheels. So a good driver + electric vehicle would always be in the advantage. Amazing stuff!

    @DieselGrunge I think so. It’s a real dog off the line, but it pulls nicely once it’s rolling I suppose.

    Imagine high siding off that thing with those batteries flopping around in the tail section though :o

    Is most of the noise from the transmission?

    O futuro é agora, em breve, vamos parar de queimar combustíveis e de fazer barulho! Sejam bem vindas motos elétricas. The future is now, soon, we’ll stop burning fuel and make noise! Bikes are welcome electric.

    @martinwinlow Durr thanks.

    O.K., this rider was catching other racers on the brakes and closing before the apex of turns. That is more about the rider than the machine, Especially when the bike is a heavy e-bitch. Anyone can open the throttle of a strong engine and hold on down the straight, but only a racer can make up time on the brakes and through a corner. Well done, racer! Great video.

    A brilliant piece of technology, especially considering it matches and can even better some of the petrol driven bikes. It does sound like he’s riding a washing machine though!

    Maybe u meant 2011 year but no 2010 in the beginning of the video?

    Check out “Chip Yates discusses his first race on his 194 hp electric superbike”. Should be in the “Suggestions” list on the right. He says he babied it at the start because he didn’t want to flip it. Pretty interesting discussion.

    @head2winnd why not search, form what I can remember from BBC world service report, slightly better power to weight than ICE, batteries behind rider as passenger and also in front to balance weight, water cooled electric motors 195bhp. But wanyway, search for it don’t rely on what I can remember, it’s fantastic though, even pulls a wheelie!

    40 years in motorcycling and this is a one of the most amazing accomplishments ever.

    Congratulations and yes…….we can still do things like this in America.

    I love combustion engines but this is wicked. The torque is instantaneous
