Neither – at 5 miles you could ride a bike and it will change your life. Anyone can ride a bike – provided you have a decent route.
Go for it! It won’t take more than 20 minutes to just ride to work! The average out-of-shape beginner can easily average 10mph so 1/2 hour tops… I guarantee no matter how out of shape you think you are you’ll be cruising in under 3 months and hardly break a sweat — unless there’s a huge hill or something…
Anyway – hope to see you in the bike lane legit – not on one of those funky electric scooters! Remember with a scooter you have to drive in traffic… a bicycle lets you take other routes and bypass stopped traffic in the bike lane.
Either way you’ll of course have to obey the rules of the road.
