Dangerously fast when the motor is left on continuously. Full details here: www.oldvcr.tv Built in 1996. Recently repaired after a high speed accident broke the front forks. No one was brave enough to take it out on the road this time.
kool man
I wonder if you could rig up a alternator system for those
@getbuck911 if you type “water cooled car starter electric bike” into your search box you should find some guy talking about heat control on the starter moter.it’s a little bit more expensive but it should be worth it..
but if I were you i would get two boat battery’s and mount one on the front and one on the back of the bike frame
I don’t think chain drive is to safe cuz the solenoid is designed to work on a flywheel.
@getbuck911 you could just get a small AC battery charger, keep it at work, and plug in to charge when you get there, then have another one at home to do the same thing. the heat thing wouldn’t be a problem if you attached some aluminum heat syncs, or hydraulically immersed it somehow!
Wow, really excellent – congratulations, and good continuation in your job.
You can also see on YouTube, the assembling my electric bike. Thanks
you could put it on the front wheel
It might make it that distance. If you have a huge battery (almost truck size). The motor will get very hot. So may not last for very many trips.
Dude, thats awesome! How far can you go on it. I have about a 7 mile ride to work, 4 hours to charge and 7 miles back. Can I make it? It is kindof hilly but not too bad. Mine is a 300w starter engine, I wass planning on powering it by a car engine.
In other words at 55kg I have no hope in hell of using this bike without flipping backwards?
You need to be 75kg+ or lean a long way froward when switching it on.
haha. i bet its got a crap ton of torque.
so it’s not like that then?
yeah i got a bike like that exept mine has an 80cc 2-stroke on it!
nice, i used a starter motor on my very first bike and it melted the 4gauge wire and the motor was smoking bad as i burned it to a crisp lol dont use starter motors!
Hey you got a cheap powerful electric bike great
job Boggs.
The motor limits the run time because a starter motor is not designed for continuous operation.
It can go for maximum of 15min at up to 45km/h
Starter motor takes very much power from the battery..how much can You drive with this battery and this motor?
Would be nice to get some closeups & follow-up vids on how you made it! Please let me know if you do
Yes it’s an old car battery. Of the higher performance variety which gives it a bit more kick.
good idea! and you’re using a car battery?
