Will hard bags from a Harley Road King fit the brackets on a bike that has the leather bags?

Looking to replace my hard leather bags on my 02 Road King with the hard bags. Will this work without buying new brackets?

Do I have to install brackets to put saddle bags on my bike?

Or can I just buy the bags and put them on. I have a crusier style bike.
