Does an electric bike really work?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if a 36 volt 600w conversion kit, new, off ebay would really work??!?!? And if I could simply add it onto my bicycle? Please help! are they worth the money?

I have to walk 20 min to the train station. Should I buy an electric bike work is 5 miles away or scooter?

Is it possible to put a 7.5″X2.0″ rear shock on a 2009 Giant Trance X? I would like to upgrade to Fox Van R coil or Fox Float RP23 but i am not sure if it is possible to put 7.5″X2.0″ on it. Thanks!
