What are good places to get new but cheap mountain bikes?

I need a bike not more than $150. Apart from online places where can i browse for one? I recently went to Dick’s Sporting Goods and the prices are very high. Are walmart/target brands any good?

Sorry, you wont get a good new bike for that amount. You don’t want a bike from Walmart or Dick’s anyway. Look for a used bike on ebay or Craig’s list that is local.

stay away from walmart or target, those bikes are crap. your best bet for a good bike for that price without going online would be to check out bike shops. you can sometimes find a used bike at a bike shop which is a good way to get a nice bike without dropping too much cash into it..

Low price = poor quality. When you buy cheap, you may end up spending more over time. That cheap bike will be built with inferior components that will break and wear out quickly, and your cheap bike may cost more to repair than it would cost to replace. A good bike can last many years with minimal cost and end up being cheaper.

Walmart ( ect ) sells cheap metal objects that appear to be bicycles, but are in fact junk.

Everyone else already said it plainly….SAVE your money and do it right the first time or come away with a bike shaped object from Dick’s or Wal Mart and learn why you NEVER buy BSO’s from either of those places. Everyone starts somewhere and if you do then you will know why you dont buy there! Pay more= get more. Pay less= get junk! Get it now?
