Go to your local bike stores

You are not likely going to find a NEW full suspension bike for less than $500….Performance bike had few, good luck finding them anymore. At this price you are getting an entry level F/S bike and although it will likely last you they come with lower end componets that can last a while as long as you do the required maintenance on the bike to keep it running. These entry level bikes also don’t have the best wheels on them and you will not want to be too hard on them until you get a better pair and use the originals as a back-up set.
Check all your local bike shops first and see if they have any 06-07′ models and even 08′ s on sale or clearance. DO NOT BE FOOLED by those higher end Dept. store bikes….they’re still JUNK! but somehow I think you know that.

You don’t want a full suspension bike for less then $900. Go to a bike shop and get a good hard tail bike. Anything that Walmart or any other department store will have will be junk.

Just go to http://www.ebay.com [category: Sporting goods CYCLING Mountain Bikes ] —You’ll find bargains and mint used full suspension bikes you can BID and kick the other bidders’ rear for the coolest rig—-

Try Craigslist. For under $500- a new full-suspension bike that is reliable….does not exist. Never go to Wal-Mart, for your ride. You might as well shovel your money into an open fire. If you are lucky- you can find a full-susser USED…..for well below $500.

a local bike store will be able to help you a lot by suggesting bike types.

it may be nearly impossible to find a full suspension bike under $500, but if you are worried about price i would suggest a hardtail
