Meh, they both have rather low-level components. The disc is going to cost you, which goes off the other components, and the GT is only 8spd. I’d go with the Trek.You can always sell and buy a better one if you get really into it.
to below: maybe he does not want to spend the kind of money for full susp., so it’s better to go with an ok hardtail than a crappily spec’d fully.
Also it’s better to have a good v-brake and good other components, than a crappy disc brake and other crappy components.
You need to compare individual components – deraillers, shifter, crankset, fork, brake levers and decide which is the better deal.
yea, and depending where the riding takes you, always have a bike with dual suspension since it will help absorb most of the shock
The GT 2.0 is the better of those two bikes. Just for the disc brakes . You can look at the trek 4300disc which would be just has good has the two bikes above.
They are so close in the way they are built this is gonna come down to wich bike fits you best and wich one you like the best.
